ISM 1 Mission Statement
My mission in the Independent Study Mentorship program is to become a better public speaker, obtain knowledge on cardiothoracic surgery,and also gain insight into the professional world. In the beginning, I became interested in the field of cardiothoracic surgery with a personal experience, and after exploring more about the field I became motivated to study the functions of the circulatory system and make it my profession. The main goal that I would like to achieve in this class is that with honesty, integrity and perseverance, I will conduct research and create an end product that will affirm my dedication and passion to cardiothoracic surgery. Through my journey, I hope to inspire many students into believing in themselves and taking opportunities that can bring them closer to their future goals.

My mission for the second year of the Independent Study and Mentorship program is to continue working on confidence, poise, and presentation skills to overall become a better public speaker, obtain more detailed knowledge on various cardiothoracic conditions and surgical procedures, and also further gain insight from various professionals in the medical field. My passion in the field of cardiothoracic surgery was sparked with a personal experience, and after exploring more about the profession, I became motivated to study the functions of the cardiovascular system and work towards making it my career in the future. The main goal that I would like to achieve in this class is that with candor, integrity and persistent dedication, I will conduct research and create an end product that will affirm my dedication and passion to cardiothoracic surgery. Through the second year of my journey, I hope to inspire many students into believing in themselves and taking opportunities that can bring them closer to their future goals.
