About Me

My name is Akansha Rao and I am a first year ISM student at Reedy High School. This year, I have chosen to study cardiothoracic surgery as my field of study because I find the technological and medicinal advancements to be the the future of medicine.

I like to keep myself active and involved, and because of this, I am part of multiple organizations such as National Honors Society, Spanish National Honors Society, Health Occupations Students of America, and Key Club. I am also a part-time employee of Kumon, an educational institution where we teach young kids reading and math strategies. Along with being part of these organizations, I often volunteer my time to the community by going to nursing homes and tutoring children.
A few of the goals that I wanted to achieve in ISM is to become a better public speaker, gain knowledge on cardiothoracic surgery, and also gain insight into the professional world. I will continue to conduct research and create an end product that will show my dedication and passion to cardiothoracic surgery. Through my journey, I hope to inspire people that believing in themselves and taking opportunities can bring them closer to their future goals.

If my friends and family had to describe me, they would categorize me as dedicated, passionate, disciplined and hardworking.
