It is the second to last week of school, and there are only four more class periods of the first Independent Study and Mentorship program left in the year. During the past week, there have been many accomplishments regarding final product and rehearsing for final presentation night.
The biggest achievements this week was effectively researching and completing the experimentation process with Dr. Brinkman and Professor Tae-Youl Choi. I tested aortic valves and measured the orifice areas of the valves, pressure of blood flow through the valve, simple mechanical energy through the valves. After discussing with Professor Choi, we figured out the layout of the experiment that we will be exactly tested. Also, we both carefully analysed the aortic valves and the parts for the experiment to record the values that will be measured. After almost 67 hours of final product work, I finally produced a research paper on all of the research and data analysis of the results, and the hopes are that it will get published in the future.
Another achievement this week was completing the final presentation rehearsal speech. With this speech, I got to practice another time in front of a different class, so I got new feedback and also became more comfortable in speaking in front of people that I am not familiar with.
Overall, this week I will continue to practice my speech as well as posture in efforts to prepare for Reedy High School’s first annual final presentation night.
